How many times do we need to wrestle with God for the things that ultimately serve our flesh?
I get you. You know yourself well and you know what you need at the moment.
Some of us people are very introspective and sensitive when it comes to such things and events which are currently happening in our lives.
Recently, I was able to talk to a colleague at work who is struggling mentally and emotionally that we begin to notice how it also greatly shifted his lifestyle and work. He had broken up with his long-time girlfriend. At the first few weeks of his breakup with her, I noticed a really good habit he had developed to divert his pain. He was into jogging and lost a lot of weight. (I even asked him what is his secret, cos, you know, I had to lose weight too. HAHAHA)
But that was a short-lived affair.
Months later, he was telling us that he had been going out with friends every night and drinking til early morning then coming to work with lack of focus, and a bit spaced out. I guess it’s just a guy’s thing to overcome heartbreak?
He is confused and would take any opportunity to pursue a career abroad, but deep down inside, he also wants to pursue his girl and fly to Dubai to try and convince her to take a second shot at their relationship (as the girl is working there).
I completely understand what he’s going through cos I personally have been in such a situation. I told him that it might be blurry now but trust God that He will reveal in due time why he had to undergo such a thing and that we must not force what He has already spared us from.
To date, he is still confused but at least not as down as before. We really hope he bounces back and by the time it happens, he will realize what God wants him to do.
