They say money is the root of all evil but that statement sounds about untrue. The Bible says to “keep free from the love of money” — love in this context is synonymous to obsession, passion or in another plain term — greed. As someone who has been earning good cash, it’s hard to not idolize money and tbh, it is still a struggle for me to change the way I look at it.
I thank God everytime He reminds me of it. It is usually always on the right time where I tend to forget this simple truth that He continues to bring it back through Word or simply during conversations with other people.
But as we are earning good money, we are not to store it for ourselves, but use it to help others. I found this truth when I started tithing.. It was one of the hardest things I have to learn when I started accepting Christ — that my hard-earned money is still not my own but a provision from above. When I started to meditate on that Truth, it became easier for me to let go of things and more importantly, give it to the right people. The catch is that whenever I gave a certain amount, it always came back double. I can’t explain this phenomenon but I know it was God on the move.
