#SkincareDiaries: An honest-to-goodness personal review of some known skincare on the market!

Hi there!

I hope you had a filled and awesome weekend!

Today, I finally had the time to write about an entry that I so long to share with you.

I also just want to put out that I’m not *in any way* paid for these brands though I’m sharing this to finally spill the tea on how they have worked for me (and hopefully, for you too soon!) and also, to answer the never-ending questions I get from random people!

If you have been following my posts on this blog, you probably are aware how many times I’ve switched from skincare-to-skincare and how my skin turned to hypersensitive overtime. Though it has gotten less oilier (that’s a big leap already!) but the breakouts are still happening!

So without further ado, I’m going to start by telling a little storyline on my skincare journey (since the lockdown happened)!

This happened during the first few weeks after the lockdown. It was a time that I introduced a new makeup to my skin and i think it was not
happy with it! 😦

I also worked out like a madman during this time and I fail to wash my face right away so it might be the sweat breaking into my pores! Thankfully it’s the lockdown so I had more time to treat this bastard. 😦

Zit season was still hanging around for a little while!

My freakishly huge acne has dried out but small ones started to appear. I think it was because I binged-eat some sugary snacks during this time. I was a bit stressed at the economic situation and how I’ve been doing financially at work and how I lost some clients in my side job.

It was really a hard time emotionally, financially and physically! Ugh!

With a little help from my lifestyle changes, big breakouts started to die down from this week!

It was still an ongoing treatment and have to religously continue my skincare so thy skin could adapt to it.

It was a far cry from the last breakout and requires lesser time to treat but still have to clear these out! Hahaha!

A few weeks later my skin has started to react to my home treatment.

Still have dark acne marks from last time but no more new zits at this point!

I avoided putting on makeup even when I have to go on grocery so my skin could breathe more and it reacted accordingly!

I really think it has something to do with the makeup I’m using that makes my skin suffocated. 😦

At this point, no new acne have surfaced in my skin and there was a slight a map of light red acne marks that I still have to deal with.

Overall, I was really okay at this point since it has been a long time I had this brightness in my skin.

Though I still have to deal also with the little white bumps in my T-Zone area. I really have to stop the makeup for a while. 😦

It was a long journey guys! But here I am, fast forward to today, and a few lesser sugar and carbs, and a lot of lemon water with consistency in skincare application. It finally paid off!

I wouldn’t lie it’s frustrating, expensive and my hormones are still winning in this battle but at least I got to learn how to suppress the flare-ups once in a while!

So what products did I use? Did I have a specific routine for my skincare? How else can I help improve my skin?

It’s really not rocket science! We have been told countless of times of the “skincare trifecta” or more commonly called as TONER-SERUM-MOISTURIZER combination. But for me, I added one more step so I can also treat the marks it left everytime they resurge.

Overall rating: 5/5 stars

I don’t want to be biased but seriously, anything that is a product of Kiehl’s is like magic to my skin.
I’m not sure why my skin has a fondness with US/France skincare but I really love this product. I’m using it to suppress any acne that’s about to be freakinshly big.
Although sometimes I do fail to apply out of exhaustion but whenever I don’t, it does the job really well!
Wouldn’t mind to hurt my wallet once in a while to stock up on this. :))))

Though skincare is really a big factor, in my case, it wasn’t completely the sole reason why my skin improved. It was always a combination of a more healthy lifestyle and that includes the food I eat, the time of sleep and the anxiousness I feel and how I managed it.

Refined carbs are also the reason why I broke out a lot and even though, my body responded differently back when I was younger, it definitely reminded me now that times have changed and I must carefully take note of what I put in my body.

I also am not a fan of drinking water in large amounts contrary to the advise where I have to drink at least 8 glasses of it everyday. I was not trained to drink a lot of water when I was a child. I always had juice (either powdered or natural) and I think it took a toll on me now that I have to drink it every now and then to keep hydrated.

But of course, we all have different reactions to different types of skincare. The bigger challenge here is to learn more abut your skintype and try out the brands for that.

Let me know how this has helped you! Until next post! πŸ™‚ ❀
